This is the big one. You have the option of working in pairs, or to work individually, to develop a research project. This includes a variety of tasks. These are listed on the research project deadline checklist in your "Student Research Handbook." Note, the point of this large scale research project is to have you experience it with two hats. One as how your future high school students might experience it, the other as a teacher who might implement a large inquiry project. Many of you have done lots of labs, but have never designed an experiment from the beginning, nor have you written a scientific paper explaining your results. Therefore, this experience may be a bit stressful and require more time than you though it would. But take heart. I will walk you ever step of the way. And this experience will distinguish you from other biology teacher candidates and I suspect, will help you get a job.
